Developed by NASA, Closed cell Sprayed Polyurethane Foam (ccSPF) or SPF is produced by a reaction between two liquid components. When heated, pressurized the combination starts to react in seconds, expanding to 20-30 times its original volume. The substance is delivered through a special spray gun and cures quickly, resulting in a seamless, weather-tight foam membrane that is long lasting and lightweight. Benefits include waterproofing and leak prevention, strong insulation performance, superior compressive strength, and durability. For exterior applications a layer of elastomeric coating is applied to protect the foam from UV damage and to provide a reflective “cool” surface. |
